Laguna Platinum Cabinet Saw Brookings SD

A riving knife is a great safety feature. It's a splitter that's always positioned 1/8-in. or so away from the blade, which greatly reduces the chance of kickback. To maintain that small clearance, a riving knife rises and falls with the blade.

Laguna Platinum Cabinet Saw

Laguna Platinum Cabinet Saw

While a contractor's-style saw can get the job done, you can't beat a genuine cabinet saw for accuracy, power, and durability. Laguna's new entry in the field features a left-tilting blade, a riving knife, a trunnion system that raises and lowers the blade on dovetailed ways, a T-square fence, 50-in. rip capacity and a 3-hp, 220-volt motor. Riving knives have long been standard equipment on European saws, and will soon be required on saws sold in the U.S. To this we say: it's about time. A riving knife is a great safety feature. It's a splitter that's always positioned 1/8-in. or so away from the blade, which greatly reduces the chance of kickback. To maintain that small clearance, a riving knife rises and falls with the blade.
