Makita Plunge Routers

Tool News - Makita Plunge Routers

Makita just announced the release of three new plunge routers. The 1-1/4 HP Plunge Router, model RP0900K, is engineered to deliver smooth and powerful routing performance. The RP0900K features an 8 AMP motor with 27,000 RPM.  It has a 0” – 1-3/8” plunge depth capacity, with a plunge depth adjustment lever with three preset depth stops. The RP0900K also has oversized ball bearing construction for longer tool life.  Ease-of-use features include a durable flat top design for changing bits and rubberized contoured handles with built-in switch for a good fit and easy control. More information on the 1-1/4 HP Plunge Router is available here .

Makita has also add two 3-1/4 HP Plunge Routers to their line, models RP1800 and RP2301FC (Variable Speed). The RP1800 features a 15 amp motor with 22,000 RPM.  It has a 0” – 2-3/4” plunge depth capacity, with linear ball bearings for smooth plunge action.  The RP1800 is engineered with oversized ball bearing construction, as well as a built-in fan with labyrinth construction, to minimize dust from entering the tool for longer tool life.

The RP2301FC features a 15 AMP motor with variable speed from 9,000 - 22,000 RPM and electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load.  It also has a soft start feature for smooth start-ups and an electric brake for increased productivity.  It has a 0” – 2-3/4” plunge depth capacity, with linear ball bearings for smooth plunge action. Like the RP1800, the RP2301FC is engineered with oversized ball bearing construction – as well as a built-in fan with labyrinth construction to minimize dust from entering the tool – for longer tool life.  The RP2301FC also has built-in twin L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work area for increased visibility.

More information on these two new 3-1/4 HP Plunge Routers is available here .
